My inner child is healing here ❤️ I have been trying to find beginner adult ballet classes ever since high school and i have finally found it, and it’s the best dance studio you can find!

Unity Dance and Movement is a beautiful dance studio owned by the lovely ballerina Jennifer. The studio spaces are professionally setup for training and have a stunning view of bethesda with their floor to ceiling windows. I was absolutely thrilled to find this studio that offers beginner to advanced level classes for ballet, modern dance, hiphop, jazz, tap and more for adults as well as kids! All the teachers are amazing dancers and are so passionate about your growth.

I have been attending ballet, modern, and conditioning classes for the last 5 months now and I love this place. Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging to the adult students. All the teachers are so talented and passionate.

This women owned small business is a true passion project and I truly hope they grow more and more. Don’t hesitate to check them out!

Dance is the best mental and physical workout in my opinion. Thank you Jennifer and all the staff at Unity for creating this beautiful space.

Unity dance is such a warm and affirming place for all levels and abilities. The Owner Jennifer, and all the staff we have interacted with are the kindest, caring, and professionals. My daughter is bubbly and joyful and loves dance and expressing herself! We had a very bad experience at another program where my daughter was made to feel like she was bad and not worthy of dance because at times she acted like a very energetic child with ADHD. Which she is very energetic and does struggle to focus at times she oozes enthusiasm and passion for dance and music. When I shared what she had experienced and how crushed she felt by this not good fit; Jennifer just said --- we need that joy and energy to help remind us how much love and joy there is in dance! We can't wait to welcome her. I almost cried.
Thank you Unity Dance for being our new dance home and making us feel so completely at home !

I love Unity Dance and Movement so much!!! I was a self taught dancer for most of my life but coming to UDM has made me learn and unlearn so much. I have had 3 full courses so far and I have improved so much. I also love the space, the floor to ceiling windows display the sunset so beautifully as we dance. I have also made beautiful relationships. Everyone is caring, and loving. It’s great! If you’re looking for a place to grow, get fit, train, improve technique. For adults too!!! UDM is ITTTT!!!

Our daughter, who is 7 years old, has been part of Unity Dance & Movement for over three years, and it has truly been one of the best decisions we’ve made for her. The program is incredibly organized, inclusive, and has supportive staffs.
She absolutely loves her ballet and creative dance classes and has learned so much during her time here. Joining Unity Dance & Movement was originally to help her improve her balance, and it has exceeded our expectations in every way.

Unity Dance is the loveliest studio! They offer such a wide variety of classes for all kinds of different levels and every teacher is kind, patient, energetic, and highly skilled! My 5 and 8 year old both take classes here and it is the highlight of our week! Highly recommend!

My 6YO daughter has been at Unity for almost two years now and we love it! The teachers and their assistants are great, and she is learning and improving. But most of all she has fun at every class! She has done Creative (like modern) and Hip Hop, as well as a couple weeks of summer camp. The classes and camps boost her confidence and she has developed a true love of dancing. Thanks to Ms Jen and the whole Unity team!

I've been a regular attendee of adult ballet classes at Unity for almost two years, mostly the Thursday Adult Ballet Beyond the Basics 2. This level is similar to Fundamentals II Ballet offered at Washington Ballet. I adore ballet. I've taken classes in the US and UK. While I'm partial to the Royal Academy of Dancing method, for adult dancers, it's all about the teacher. Jen Dobbins is a gifted teacher. I would not put instructors from the Washington Ballet above her. An advantage of Unity is that the classes are more intimate and supportive. They have different size studios. While everyone wants to be in the larger studio, the size of the medium studio is fine, and the renovations they made (esp flooring) are positive. I only wish that more ballet classes were offered. I recently started taking the Saturday morning class (Beyond the Basics I). As for location, it's a bit of a walk from the metro, but doable.

The instructors and staff create the most friendly and welcoming environment for learning, making mistakes, and most importantly having fun every week. I would absolutely encourage anyone — regardless of your dance expertise or experience — to try it out!
