Mr. Grant had been there to escort me and my "Little" ( a term used as he is a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program). He and I discussed the history of 3rd AD...while this young man seemed to explore and ask questions. I am appreciative of Mr. Grant and his kindness.

Worth a visit if you are local or passing through the area.
This museum has the potential and space to be awesome, they just need to add more. What is displayed is interesting for mature adults, but might not interest children, teens and younger adults. For the local old retired soldiers (and a WAC) who went with me, seeing the uniform of 'our days' was nostalgic.
I recommend adding some 'hands on' displays, perhaps old radios, phones, soldier issue items, and just about any other military device of times past along with current item.
A "before and current" item's display also may be of interest.
I suspect that there are enough military retirees and military memorabilia collectors in the surrounding area to assist the museum without cost to the government if a sincere effort by the museum was made that would ensure the display of donated items.

Ok little museum about the base, very well laid out and nice interpretations of everything, It was a nice way to spend a few hours, It was Fort Polk when I was there..
