The instructors at Machita Dance Company are exceptional. My daughter has been attending classes for 3 years and the progress she has made is incredible. The teachers strike the perfect balance between being encouraging and challenging, which has helped my daughter build both her confidence and technique. My daughter always looks forward to her classes, and it's been wonderful to see her enthusiasm for dance grow.

I have in the past felt that some things were a bit disorganized, particularly when it came to communication. However, I have lately been impressed with how much effort the studio has put into making improvements. Communication with parents has become much clearer. It’s evident that the studio values feedback and is committed to providing the best possible experience for both the students and their families.

The administrators genuinely care about the well-being and progress of each student. I have approached them with questions about my daughter’s progression in some areas and they took the time to address my concerns thoroughly. They never made me feel rushed or that my questions were an inconvenience. Instead, they provided thoughtful explanations. Their transparency and willingness to engage in open dialogue give me great confidence that my child is in the best hands.

Overall, MDC has been a great experience for our family. My daughter is not only developing her dance skills but also learning valuable lessons in discipline, teamwork, and self-expression. I would highly recommend this studio to any parent looking for a high-quality dance education for their child.

Mrs. Lynn, owner, runs this company now, which was started many years ago by Mrs. Machita, a talented dance teacher who has taught hundreds of not thousands of dancers. She is known for creating career dancers. I danced w/ her for 6 years back in the 90s. I'm 29 now, and my daughter is dancing there. Unfortunately, Mrs. Machita no longer teaches dance but maintains a close relationship with the studio. She agreed very graceful, and taught well into her 60s, (I believe). You couldn't tell her age from looking at her, bc she kept herself up very, very well. She started her business in Brusly, in what is now L & S Signs, a very small building. Needless to say, it was VERY cramped in that small building full of dancers; but she made it work for many years. Presently, the studio is now a 2 story building right down street from Spillway Sportsman (technically within Port Allen city limits), right next door to Rocking Horse Daycare Ctr. I love the atmosphere and the teachers there, I just wish it wasn't so pricey. My daughter is taking 2 classes, ballet & tap and it's $55/mo. Not including costume & recital costs. Mrs. Lynn and her talented daughters are proudly carrying on the legacy of the great? Machita's Dance Co. ?
