I came in for a simple ear lob piercing. I’d had my lobs pierced as a kid back in the day but they had since grown over. Rene was THE BEST! She was so informative about the process in general and so gentle. Her conversational demeanor really eased my anxiety. That aside, her attention to detail was unmatched! She made sure I was involved every step of the way. Rene is a true professional!!

I waited to post the review because I really hoped we could find a resolution. Went in early June for a consultation for two different pieces on two people, and Brendan seemed ecstatic to take our tattoos. Scheduled our appointments and 4 weeks later, we had our them booked. Lots of waiting and anticipation, but he wanted to give us the full day. He was nice and that’s what made us even more excited about working with him.

I reached out a few times to get a sense of when we would see art work, but they assured it would be ready on the day. They had taken photos of the area for the tattoo, we have multiple reference photos and spoke directly to Brendan about the work we wanted done. As someone who is heavily tattooed, this seemed perfectly in line with a positive experience!

I took PTO and I came in for my appointment, where Brendan had me wait in the lobby, before eventually coming to me and said he didn’t know it would be partial cover up, didn’t have any art work to show, made several excuses blaming the front desk person, even though I spoke directly to him during the consult and he looked at my leg and seemed super excited. His demeanor was nice, but dismissive of the tattoo idea for the cover up, then said he could trace my leg and come up with some ideas. No call before to save me wasting the day off, just excuses for why it was someone’s else fault that he couldn’t do the piece.

Not only did he basically say it wasn’t possible, he also started making excuses for the other tattoo for the other person, which was so odd because it isn’t my tattoo. Rather than making either tattoo work, and using the day we booked him completely off for, he just clearly had no intention on doing anything on either of us. I told him that I was open to suggestions but wanted to see something drawn up, and if we wanted to avoid the cover up to use all of the blank space I had instead… which was a LOT. I just don’t think he wanted to get into that day. First day back from vacation and there was zero motivation for this.

I tried to work with the owner to get some resolution, who was nice enough but also, just felt like we were a complete imposition. I wanted to make it work, whether a different artist or to see some art work or really anything to avoid having this awful review. I reached out to see if Brendan was drawing something up, or if there was a different space for a piece, or another artist, or anything to try and pull this back together. After basically saying Brendan didn’t know and want his fault, which wasn’t true because he looked at my leg and we spoke about it during the consult, the owner just stopped responding to my fb messages and didn’t even have the decency to return my phone calls. We could be regular clients but instead, we’re left with negative experience that we will be sharing with anyone who mentions Mothers Tattoo.

The complete lack of professionalism is just insane. I have followed up several times after to try and get a new date booked, or a different artist, or to see some artwork and they’ve just completely ignored me. Multiple requests were just ignored and the owner dropped the ball completely. He refunded my deposit and I suppose felt like that rid himself of the issue.

Harsh review but it is deserved given the lack of communication and professionalism. Brendan, you seem like a really nice guy so I hate posting this, but you could’ve turned this around. Advice for future is to pay attention in your consult, don’t wait the day off to look at your work, and try and be more solution focused.

I do not recommend this place at all.

I had my nose pierced at a different location but the stud in the nose ring fell out. I was in Erlanger and passed by this tattoo shop hoping to find a black hoop and have it put in. The lady at the front desk brought out a small selection to choose from and they didn’t have a black hoop so I just chose another stud. She said $4.50, so I agreed and we went back to put it in. All was good until we went to check out! And charged me $60!!! Just to have a nose ring put in.. I could not believe that! I literally could’ve taken it to the place I had it pierced at they would have put it in for free. The lady was super nice and friendly and explained everything well but failed to explain she’d be charging me $60 to replace a nose ring.?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️

What a phenomenal tattoo shop! I worked with Morris for my first ever tattoo and I could not be happier with the experience. From the first time I walked in to schedule my appointment to the day I got inked, Morris and everyone else in the shop were helpful, kind, and professional. Given that I was a tattoo virgin, Morris walked me through every step and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I will most likely be getting more tattoos in the future, and I will 100% be using Mothers and Morris or whomever he recommends depending on the style. Could not recommend this place more!
