I had a wonderful experience with Premiere Ballet Academy in 2016. Miss Melissa cares deeply about her students. She helped me learn points at 28 years old. Miss Melissa loves teaching Ballet. I have taken classes with many teachers in different styles and places (Paris, Mexico, and the US); she is the best mix of being strict in a positive way. No body shaming, no unattainable goals. Every improvement is part of the journey. Her passion for Ballet is transmitted to her students naturally. I have also seen her classes with the little ones, and she explains ballet concepts and French words in simple terms, such as "put sprinkles," so that they can understand the exercise's goal. I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, I do not live in San Antonio anymore.

My daughter began her time at Premier Ballet Academy in August of 2021, in the 3/4 ballet/tap combo class. I don’t have a dance background, but I have coached for 10 years, and I can tell you Melissa Mulligan and her team of instructors are excellent, and have exceeded my expectations. Melissa is kind, patient, encouraging, engaging, upbeat and magnetic. Each class is well organized, well planned, and structured (which as a coach, I know is quite difficult for this age group). The girls know what to expect and what is expected of them. If you are looking for a fun, safe, and informative learning environment try PBA, you will be able to see and feel the difference.

My daughter has been with Premiere since she was two. We started after we moved to San Antonio from Houston. To this day, Melissa Mulligan is one of the kindest people I’ve met in the city. As every year passes and we complete an amazing production, my daughter takes another leap forward in progressing her ballet skills.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint at Premiere. Melissa prides herself on teaching her dancers important fundamentals carefully and thoughtfully to help them learn these crucial steps and graduate to the next level. We are not overwhelmed with a crazy schedule of lessons and shows as Melissa cares deeply about her students passions and enthusiasm for ballet.

Melissa is not the only teacher at Premiere. Her daughter Brenna is a professional ballerina who often teaches classes, assists and works with the students. Her demonstrations are remarkable to watch and my daughter is always excited to see her in class.

This studio feels so comfortable to us and we are thrilled to continue our daughter’s ballet journey at this studio. If you are considering ballet for your child, I cannot recommend Premiere Ballet enough!!

Just finished a ballet camp with my little four year old taught by Melissa and team: A-MA-ZING. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time despite having to miss two days of the five-day class. She was so accommodating. No time was wasted during the brief two hours with the little dancers during the camp. A full hour of dancing, stretching, teaching. Then she educated by commentating on professional dancers performances "Now watch closely, do you see how they are moving their hands here? She is indicating excitement..... Watch these men perform. You have to be very strong to be a dancer. See how high they can jump?" Then a craft that related to the camp theme (Sleeping Beauty). Then she even choreographed a recital piece for the little dancers to perform for family members on the last day. What?! Blown away by this camp! But especially impressed by the staff, Melissa and her team of instructors taught my little one so enthusiastically and with such love. I would love to continue dancing with Melissa.

Premiere Ballet Academy is amazing. My daughter started last year and has thoroughly enjoyed her ballet/tap classes. Melissa and all the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that classes run smoothly and all questions are answered. I’m so glad my friend recommended PBA to me, because we love it and have had such a great experience.
