My daughter (now 7) has taken ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop with Expressions for the last 2.5 years (since 2022). (We have also done a mother-daughter dance and she did a father-daughter dance as part of their yearly recital.) A friend recommended Expressions to me because it is very much about working with every child who has a love of dance. What I love about Expressions is that it feels like a truly welcoming place for every person and body type. Unlike some studios which are either overly competitive or overly priced, Expressions offers a range of classes (both recreational and competitive) to help young people express themselves through dance. The dancers put on 5-10 minute routines at the near Halloween, Christmas, and during their camps so parents/caregivers can see a bit of what they are doing in class and give the kids a chance to perform without as much pressure of being on a formal stage. Veronica (the owner) is kind and easy to talk to, and, as a parent, I appreciate that I always know the cost of things upfront. (There are never any surprise fees.) Dance has been an important part of my life, and I am very glad we tried Expressions!

We love Expressions dance! Veronica goes above and beyond for her dancers! She genuinely cares about each dancer both personally and giving them opportunities to be challenged and develop their dancing skills. Veronica is understanding to the demands of school, personal obligations and her communication is amazing. We love EDA! My 5yo child has not been dancing at EDA for very long (under 6 months) but in that short time we have felt included and part of the community. The teachers and owner all learned her name right away, the teachers were all so patient with her during the adjustment period when we first enrolled (shy kid) and now she absolutely loves her teachers, she enjoys going to class, and is always practicing her choreography at home. The age 4-6 classes are a great balance of learning dance skills, social skills, and fun! We look forward to our first recital with EDA in the spring! Ever since we moved back to California 6 years ago, my daughter has been a proud member of EDA. She engaged well with everyone. There were not only stunning performances at Disneyland, Warrior games, dance conventions, but also the recitals (and the pool parties) at the year end. EDA is just such a big warm family, with positive attitudes for everything.

My daughter's danced at Tiffany's, Spark, San Ramon Valley Dance and now Expressions. She's completed her first year at Expressions and we both love the studio. The owners (Miss Sandy & Miss Wendy), are both incredibly talented and truly want what is best for all their dancers. If you're looking for a positive dance experience for your child, look no further. Expressions treats everyone like family: the dancers, the parents, grandparents, siblings - it's an incredible thing in this day and age. I highly recommend Expressions Dance & Arts.

My family has danced at this studio since 2012. We have experienced recreational classes, Performance Team, summer camps and Women's Fitness classes. Watching my oldest daughter change and grow in dance through this studio has been very rewarding. The staff is exceptionally talented, friendly and understanding. It truly feels more like our family than a dance studio!

We have now completed a school-year's worth of dance lessons with Expressions, and it was a positive experience all around.

-Ms. Wendy, the dance teacher, is quite obviously a professional dancer who has a natural talent for working with children.

-Sandy, the owner of Expressions, started the company after years and years of her daughters dancing at other establishments. What she brings to the table is a desire to fix the problems she has encountered along the way. I found her to be highly responsive to any little concern or suggestion that I had. She is highly organized, easy to reach over email, and she is often at the studio during classes so it's easy to chat in person.

The classes are priced comparable to other local classes. The parking around the studio is ample (even with all the SUV/mini vans we're all driving). And one especially nice thing about the location is that it is a short walk over to one of the play grounds in the Sports Park. (So people dragging younger siblings along have something to do during the 40 or so minutes of class.)

If you are looking for a dance class for your child in Pleasanton, I would recommend Expressions.
