I was recently referred to James Automotive for exhaust on my 1946 Pontiac Torpedo. Communication was excellent, price was fair, and the quality of work was top notch! It's hard to find anybody that can still bend pipe, make it fit, and look nice too while meeting the expectations of the customer. GREAT JOB guys!

I grew up in Ottawa and have known the James family for a long time. I had some exhaust work done in the early 2000's and was given a fair price and great work. Fast forward almost 25 years and I drove 1.5 hours to have some exhaust work done on my truck by some folks that I know I can trust. Great work, honest pricing, and supporting a hometown business. Win/win/win in my book!

You know this should've been a good experience, but being an OTR driver, it's hard to make everything fit into a perfect time slot. I had an 8am appt. I moved mountains to make it happen. I called multiple times, but there was no answer. I was late getting my truck to the shop I arrived at 10:30 Jeff comes out i explained, and i got to told basically that 2.5 hours meant it couldn't be worked on for 2 weeks. I took vacation at my job to make this happen. I was initially told he needed a day and a half so I basically had to take multiple days off work instead of a Friday which I explained was the simplest he said it'll need more than a day. We'll come to yesterday, I'm told no we do exhaust in 1 day. If that was the case I wouldn't have had an issues! Making 8am cause I would've scheduled Friday! The day it's easiest for the company to get me home!

Then they post on FB that a friend came in and got work done without issues no appointment. I guess if your buddies cool but anyone else gfys.

I'm sure others expirences were good, but for me apparently we could have no compromise I know a few car guys in Ottawa, and they couldn't believe that's how it went down..

Communication is key here, follow ups and answer your phone! I was able to work with what you could've offered as in work me in. I understand appointments matter but you also need to understand the world's not perfect.
