Retired Army Infantry guy here! I never thought I'd learn to love Modern Dance. Not until I met City in Motion Dance theatre, Inc. From the first performances I watched, I was entranced by the talent and passion of their performance Company. I immediately got into this community and started serving. Their dance classes are inclusive and nuanced to all abilities and ages. Their studios are professionally maintained and fully accessible. City in Motion has incredible KC History, going back almost 40 years. The thing I love most about this organization: it's students, families, volunteers, dancers, choreographers, artistic directors and board of directors directly reflects the diversity, richness, and passion of Kansas City! Next time I'm back in KC, I am stopping by City in Motion.

Offers classes in many different styles, including jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and musical theater style. Classes available for all age groups, including adult. Teachers have varied dance backgrounds, and each teacher brings her own personality to the session. Staff and students alike are warm and inviting. It's a little confusing to find the building entrance at first, but staff was able to give directions over the phone. Overall, highly recommend!

My daughter is attending City In Motion pre-ballet classes. She absolutely LOVES the classes, and her new dance "friends". Everyone at the studio has been very friendly, even allowing her to watch the adults rehearsing so my little one can see other dance styles. I see us attending CIM classes for years to come!
